Bath Essentials

We’ve lived in our home for over a decade now and still have not gotten around to updating our dated bathrooms more with than paint. The silver lining is that in all that time, I have really gotten to marinate on the ideas of what we’ll do eventually, and hopefully we will save renovation dollars in the long run by not making snap, trend-based decisions with a quick reno. In the meantime, if you don’t love your bathroom (or if you rent and a remodel is not an option), there are a few things you can do with your bathroom to make it feel chic.

I prefer to view the bath as a room as opposed to a utilitarian space, so where it’s possible, I will add a lamp to the countertop for warmth and coziness. Fresh paint and new, fluffy towels go a long way in creating a clean palette. Glass apothecary canisters are an elevated way to store your daily and guest and toiletries . A botanical-scented candle, luxurious hand soap, bubble bath, and some greenery breathe life into this hardworking space. Finally, if you have the space, add side chair or stool to hold a stack of fresh towels or a plant, and a piece of beautiful, original artwork goes far in adding a personal touch.
