One part spooky, one part chic is my recipe for Halloween decorating. I get my cheap thrills in the form of glittered bugs, gilded snakes and natural elements. I love that Halloween is on a weekend this year, so I’m looking forward to a chilly couple of days watching supernatural thrillers with a lots of popcorn and candy. Here’s a look at a few of the spooky scenes around our house this year.
Kitchen witches
A rat in the grain
Mice with a penchant for French antiques
Black tapers in the dining roomSnakes in my gardenia
Blue morphos in the sitting room
Bugs on our coffee table(They look even better once glittered)
A glittering beetle
A fluted glass vase with trailing nasturtiums becomes a glass pumpkin
A tray of spiders
A wreath of ‘Sweet Annie’ on our garden shed
Ghostly pumpkins at our front doorBlack birds congregate on some buttonweed
